The increasingly hotter days caused by climate change are placing new demands on urban planners. Free access to drinking water in public space should be taken for granted. Yet, many of the existing drinking fountains barely serve their purpose. They appear unhygienic and have to be used with a hunched body posture.

Peak makes use of a technology that is already present in public spaces: Laminar flowing water jets used for waterspout fountains. A crystal clear and perfectly focused water jet is operated by the large lever and can be adjusted in height. The jet behaves so calmly that it seems to be standing still in the air. This not only results in a completely new drinking sensation, but water bottles can also be filled in a pointedly manner. The simple, sculptural appearance protects the fountain from vandalism and enriches the cityscape.
